Welcome

Our Mission: To be a visible demonstration of the Kingdom of God by acts of mercy that meet the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of those we serve.

Who We Are

Community Harvest is a provisional food pantry that has been in operation out of Trinity Church in Morton since March 2008.  We are open every Saturday from 10am - 12pm for residents of Tazewell County who are in need. No income verification is necessary.

Over 250 volunteer hours are spent each week receiving, loading, preparing, and distributing food.  We serve an average of 1,000 households per month, or  3,381 people. Over 1,300 of those are children.

The Need Is Great

  • The rural population is at the greatest risk of food insecurity without resources to meet their needs.

  • Over 9 tons of food are currently received and distributed out of Community Harvest every month to hungry people throughout Tazewell County.
  • Less than 25% of our current client base comes for food on any given week. The potential exists for a significant increase in demand, even without new customers
  • Children are especially affected by food insecurity. Over 1,300 children a month are served by Community Harvest.
