Volunteer OpportunitiesWe welcome new volunteers all the time and really enjoy watching a community come together to take care of each other. Here are some regular volunteer opportunities and their time commitments: WednesdaysWe receive food from Peoria Food Bank that needs to be unloaded and stocked into the storage room and on the pantry shelves. Some, but not all volunteers will need to be able to lift. ThursdayOnce a month we receive food from Midwest Food Bank that needs to be unloaded and stocked, and we need to repackage bulk items into smaller quantities. SaturdayCommunity Harvest is open for Saturday distribution to the public from 10am - 12pm. There is a wide range of jobs for volunteers, so there's something for everyone! Volunteers are needed from 9am - 1pm for setup, cleanup and lunch. Volunteers are encouraged to stay for lunch (which is provided) to debrief about the day and share comments, concerns and questions. Other weekly opportunitiesBuilding Units: This is done each week on Wednesday or Thursday morning. We put together these basic boxes of food during the week and then add to them on Saturdays. Food Pickups: In addition to the Peoria Food Bank and Midwest Food Band deliveries, several volunteers are needed throughout the week to drive to our local sources and pick up food donations, return them to Community Harvest, and put food away. These are generally smaller donations. If you are interested in volunteering or want more information please This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
